ACO stands for Air Cadet Organisation - In this respect, referring to the RAF-run Volunteer Gliding Squadrons (VGSs - providing powered and unpowered gliding facilities for air minded young people) These two dozen plus units across the UK have now been grounded for over two years due to institutional airworthiness problems - for which see the long-running thread in this section below -
