This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. LM? It seems to me the message to Canada on the F-35 should come from the US Government, not the industrial supplier. Keep in mind, everything about that aircraft developed by means of government funded R&D programs is owned by the US government, not LM. IMHO, the US government sets policies like this, not LM, unless the US DoD have ceded their role and responsibility to LM. Then I refer you back to Eisenhower's warning.
