It's a complete waste of taxpayers money when the Virgin train service takes passengers to and from the heart of London every hour and not to a location nearly an hour away. Add to that minimum check-in times and a "slow" prop aircraft being used on the route and there is a good argument that the tax payers handout could be better spent as the time savings are not that great.
I totally agree about the taxpayers' money point. A route should be viable or a subsidy must serve some important social purpose. However, from South or South East Essex getting to Euston itself can be time consuming and difficult, particularly in the peak. So I only half agree. CAX-SEN take the train. SEN-CAX (SEN-GLA even better) is a route that may work.
