I've never agreed with the argument that EDI is somehow on the 'right side of the city.' North, south, east or west it's still on the otherside of the country from the Scotland's biggest city and GLA is after all at the heart of Scotland's largest population centre.

With regards to your other comments, I have friends travelling to Malta in a few days time. They are travelling from Glasgow via Amsterdam. This is why hub routes exist. People are willing to pay more to fly from an airport on their doorstep even if it involves a stop.

Glasgow has two of its own airports and for the few who are willing to travel hours more to save a tenner, there are regular trains to Manchester which I'd estimate takes more passengers from Glasgow than what EDI does.

Like I said above, I see potential for Jet2 to add an additional aircraft to Glasgow and a number of possible routes they could deploy such an aircraft on. Here's hoping there is more to come from Jet2 at Glasgow for S17.
