That is not correct for those employed by my airline ATNotts. We have lots of cabin crew that have been trained early but cannot fly due to lack of ID card, and consequently are not being paid! How many will wait or find alternative employment remains to be seen.
On a seperate matter I hear that due to the airport making a hash of the drainage during the runway extension it is likely that RW33 will never be able to achieve CAT III again. I cannot think of any other UK airport that has ever permanently lost their all weather capability on a runway.
