Garmin 430W

I am upgrading my G430 to a G430W to enable GPS approaches in a G reg FR182Q. The upgrade comes with a new aerial and EASA paperwork.
I have been told that for EASA IFR approval I have to have a separate CDI annunciator fitted to the instrument panel before use.( very expensive mod apparently)
The G430 already has an annunciator on the set, so why is another needed?, I am confused!
The 430W flies GPS/LPV approaches out of the box, so is the EASA requirement purely for G reg approval? So if on the N reg, the separate annunciator not required.
A friend of mine has a G430W in his N reg Cessna, no separate CDI/Vloc annunciator fitted, and flies perfect GPS/LPV approaches.
