According to GDS and the website, Air Canada is replacing Rouge with AC mainline product to Toronto this summer - but apparently only for 3 weeks in July !
Flights kick off this Friday with 3 weekly Rouge service AC1930/1. Then from 03-24 July the flights change to AC842/843 (AC's previous MAN flight numbers from way back when) operating 5 weekly and using mainline 763 aircraft with AC Business class available. From 25 July Rouge AC1930/1 service returns at 6 weekly for the rest of the peak summer season.
Anyone know if this is some sort of test of the MAN market or (more likely) just a change of equipment/brand to meet a temporary operational or maintenance need ?
Why would they need to do a test to access the market, they should have the data. 3 weeks mid seasons wouldn't tell them anything.
The Y and J fares are more less the same as Rouge ones so more likely an operational change.
