I would recommend you pick a state you would like to train in, for example Florida. You should then book a short break over there and visit your preferred flight schools, talk to them face to face, get an idea of how things work and most important of all talk to students studying there.
If you don't visit a school personally before signing up you will only have yourself to blame if things go wrong. (don't forget you can't change schools halfway through on a US visa)

Yes you can change schools - I did it relatively painlessly - I lost all my ground school credits and only half the hours counted towards the 141- but it was worth the jump as I figured out early that the school was not for me- didnt need to leave the country - all Sevis TSA Visa changes done by the new school
