Luton Tower

If anyone is taxiing onto the main apron today then take a last look at Luton’s old 1950’s control tower as it is being knocked down this week. A very sad end to a grand old lady that was built when Luton was still a grass airfield. I have a photo of a Comet parked under the tower when it was under construction with the original wooden tower in the background. Shame that I can’t post it here.
