I am aware of, and agree with all your points. It is a shame if manning have discounted those with quals but who are not currently flying- but I don't see why they would do that? Unless their "quota" was satisfied by those in flying positions? You don't state your rank (I am not asking you to), but I believe that Sqn Ldrs have to apply for PAS, in contrast to Flt Lts who are automatically looked at.
