I agree. But again, nothing will change anymore. Don't know how your public pension system works over there on the island(I assume your are from the UK, I might be wrong) but on the mainland, depending on the country, it is something that will pay your fixed costs once retired(no sports cars, no chalet, no yacht, ^^).
Apart from that you do your extra retirement payments, e.g. the Ryanair one. Nothing great again, but something that you take. And it will pay you some extras in your retirement. Again, nothing fancy, simple, as most of us pilots are used to.
If you have been lucky then good for you, but nothing that you can take for granted nowadays. IMHO. Good if some of us still have the choice and have this huge retirement paid by their employer. I am not one of them.
