John Deakin, on AVSIG was describing a high speed pass at the
Camarillo CA airshow by an F-18, flying at .99 mach.
I, like most people probably have never heard a sonic boom (I think
).
What would be the problem of creating one at an air show ?
Is there any danger involved to people on the ground ?
Is a sonic boom alot louder from say 2000' feet away compared to 10 miles ?
Would a boomer created by a plane flying at 50,000 alt be audible on the ground ?
How does it sound, compared to a really loud clap of thunder ?
