Yes it's been an interesting experience to lose my father. It's only when you irrevocably lose someone that you discover how valuable they are. It's all too easy to take people for granted when they're around. On the other hand my father ticked-off 100 years, so one can hardly complain... and ill-health was demoralising him... he said he was ready to check-out.
Whoever wrote the obituary, it was very decent of him/her. A lot of work and probably little in the way of 'thanks'.
