Commander Michael J Doust RN (Rtd). R.I.P.

It is with deep sadness that the family of Michael J. Doust, Commander RN (Rtd.) announce that he “Crossed the Bar” on 24th April 2016. Michael “Punchy” Doust joined the Royal Navy in 1951 as JREM Electrical branch, then on to pilot, senior pilot, AWI, squadron commander and ultimately 'Wings' of HMS Hermes in 1979. He flew the Sea Balliol, Sea Vampire, Wyvern, Sea Venom, Sea Hawk, Gannet, Buccaneer and Phantom aircraft all with great skill and professionalism, before retiring from the Service in 1983.

He "Crossed the Bar" in Virginia, USA, where he lived post retirement but is to make one last flight home to be buried at St.Thomas the Marty, Winchelsea, East Sussex beside his family.

Naomi Appleby nee Doust

Naomi is a friend of mine, though I would post on here in case anyone knew or remembered him.

RIP sir.
