Vote for an independent because "Party unity" is getting this country nowhere.
And a mob of independents would??

Apologies Horatio, but here I disagree. A mob of Independents would quickly degenerate into total paralysis of the Parliament with all of them, having their own axes to grind, be totally incapable of agreeing on anything! (Except maybe a pay rise for themselves!)

I suspect that they would very quickly develop a large sense of self-importance and each of them would push the view that 'I was elected to this seat therefore my opinion/policies must prevail!'

Is it not a fact that part of the current inability of the Government to be able to pass its legislation is due to a Senate being seemingly held to ransom by a few Independents? One elected with, what was it.. less than 1% of the Primary vote?
