The fact that it's a 2,000 bomb is a bit of a yawner. A decade and more ago our Vipers were flying routine missions, on call or planned strike, over Iraq with GBU-31 JDAM: 2000-lb bomb, GPS guided. It was part of a standard load out.

What interests me about the Paveway and this strike is its "bunker buster" feature since getting at things under ground/in caves is a different weaponeering problem. That's been an interesting nut to crack over the years.
