was directed to the scanners
every time, while passport control staff sat at their empty desks
and just watched, despite a build up of people at the scanners.
What they naively overlook is that whilst they think they're having a cushy time laughing at the queues at the scanners, these same scanners will be making most of them redundant in not too many years from now. They will probably expect us to feel sorry for them.
Perhaps if they woke up and started providing a helpful service to the people who are paying for them to do a job through their taxes, they might just stand some chance.
