GLA-SZG flights operated using a ex BD A319 which could seat a maximum of 136 (12C/128Y), Sometimes CE cabin may have been bigger. Giving a load factor of at least 75% in March.
Nice to see mainline re-doing the regional GLA-SLZ route next winter. Seemed to carry good loads and should build on this years. The EDI-IBZ short lived regional attempt was obviously not a sign the experiment wasnt worth trying again. Wonder if theyd try anytging else ex GLA with airbus crews
The EDI-IBZ was unpopular in a big part due to it's flight timings. In summer BA's shorthaul operation works pretty hard, with little slack for something like the EDI-IBZ. As the only times an aircraft could operate the service was between the last shuttle of the night and the 1st of the morning.
The shorthaul flying operation reduces by quite a bit during the Winter season. BA decided to try a ski flight as they saw it could fit operating as a W pattern from LGW. It wouldn't surprise me if we see maybe Sunday GNB or INN flight added from GLA this year. With the aircraft operating LGW-GLA-GNB-GLA-LGW
Also maybe a LGW-EDI-GNB-EDI-LGW rotation.
