In other news, seems it's been made public now so the new Thomson Caribbean route I posted a few pages back is Santa Clara. Will be 1 weekly every Tuesday.
It's a Cuban destination, and, will be the only route from the UK. I'm pretty sure Thomas Cook used to serve it though, so, not a 'new' route in the traditional sense
Yep, went with TCX in May 2006, such an obscure destination it wasn't even on the departure board when we arrived to check in, we initially thought we'd turned up on the wrong day.
Stopped in Cayo Santa Maria, described in the brochure as a 'biosphere reserve' which was seemingly a posh term for a swamp, the clouds of mosquitos had to be seen to be believed.
Old military base so there was the interest of some old Mig (15's?) at the far side of the runway from the (very small) terminal.
