Great to see it finally happen.

According to the public Airbus data it will be long enough for a full-MTOW A380-800 weight-variant 6 ( 573 tonnes MTOW ) on a standard-ISA day, assuming the taxiways can take the 575 tonne taxiing weight.
The A380 will be here long before 2020.....

Great news !!

Will this benefit the A380 or would it matter ?

Hopefully some new long haul routes come out of this .

Would Singapore, Bangkok and Rio be possible ?
Most are more less possible today, I don't think a longer runway will be a major factor in such routes.

In other news EI have added 400,000 seats between October 16-March 17 to LIS, FAO, AGP, LPA, ACE, TFS and FUE.
