For all those wondering about pay I will try and give you an accurate rundown of what you might expect - straight from the Sunstate EBA. The allowances figure I've put in is an informed guess based on average hours worked on current rosters but I would say is accurate within +/- 5k. From what I can see the duty hours between bases doesn't vary much, it's generally more to do with the type you're on. Bare in mind, although you'll end up with more coin in your pocket on the Q400, you'll also be doing almost double the duty - this is all subject to change with more pilots joining.
BNE/ADL FO Q300 65%: base $68308 + allowances (roughly 20k) = $88000PA
BNE/ADL FO Q300 55%: base $57799 + allowances (roughly 20k) = $78000PA
BNE/CNS FO Q400 65%: base $73089 + allowances (roughly 25K) = $98000PA
BNE/CNS FO Q400 55%: base $61844 + allowances (roughly 25k) = $87000PA
(the 400 allowances are conservative. Currently I'd expect it might be a bit more due to crew shortage)
I can't give an accurate rundown of Eastern bases but generally the 300 guys/girls are doing a fair bit more flying than the Sunnies 300 FO's so you could expect and extra 5k or so on top of the above figures?? The SYD 400 crew are doing similar hours to BNE/CNS guys but Mildura is alot less duty. You can forget about a MEL base for a few years.
