Great news about Virgin, certainly didn't see that one coming. Whilst TCX are doing a sterling job to the USA from MAN they are non-aligned and very much leisure focussed. VS are a major brand worldwide, and with the Delta connection there's feed at both ends of these routes. Excellent.
Air China. I am told 'fear not', it will start in winter. Perhaps a good thing that we didn't have two new China routes starting the same month as there is bound to be some market overlap there. The delay will allow Hainan a chance to get some traction before facing competition direct out of MAN. I think Cathay's MAN-HKG market is distinct and different. Hainan/MAG do seem to be marketing the route - it keeps popping up on my laptop anyway.
