I think you are going in the right direction.
The 737 when it is light will really accelerate quickly.
Maybe flaps/slats were not retracted and failed?
Maybe they were retracted as the thrust levers were idled and they didn't catch it as they slowed?
The FDR and the CVR will tell us soon.
