In a similar vein, do any insiders know why T3 security at MAN always has huge queues even at off peak times? One thing Heathrow Airport has really tackled is this area, it is by no means uncommon to have ZERO people in front of you in T5 now mid morning whilst at the same time in Manchester it takes a good 20 minutes (accompanied by much shouting which is hardly conducive to reducing stress of customers or air crew one would think). If your bag is selected for secondary search it looks as though you can kiss goodbye to any time spent in the shops or lounges so must cost them money?
I'm beginning to think you are trolling fantasy.
I'm going through T5 on at least a twice weekly basis currently.
Never have I got through in 20 minutes.
Worst example was just this week.
Arrived from SIN. Joined the Border Control queue for domestic connections, which had
two officers on duty; 82 minutes from back of queue to being processed.
A further 20 minutes to go through the photo check.
Hit the "Fast Track" escalator up to security which was queueing almost back to the top of the escalator. Over 40 minutes to get through.
Total time: 2 hours 22 minutes.
I honestly don't know how anyone can compare T5 to MAN's T3. You can clear T3 security in seconds at its quietest.
