I am VERY new to the bus, 300 hours on type, and have most certainly been taught to us VS as we struggle the last 1000 or so feet. I have been taught, to avoid flying like a dolphin, to select a sensible VS and glue my eyes to speed and VLS. (It does vary skipper to skipper.)
