Tenancy up end of June, closure on sale of house end of March. Been told now that I have to give a month's notice and must leave end of June. This could entail paying two lots of rent unless I can come to some agreement with the new owner.
I'm not sure that's right, laser. When someone buys a property they take on whatever agreement you currently have. This means that once the sale is finalised, you then pay rent to the new owners as the old ones no longer have anything to do with it and they certainly can not collect rent from you for a property they do not own. May I ask who on earth suggested to you that you might have to pay TWO lots of rent? The terms of your tenancy do NOT change ... the only thing that changes is the identity of your landlord.
