Actually the notice period depends from your seniority.
It is very logical : the more you stay the more your notice period is.
The first time I asked it was 45d.
Finally when I decided to quit they told me 56d...
Obviously again one of the several bad surprises THY makes to you specially when you have planned everything already with your next employer.
Don't expect to give the remaining day off to fill the gap...
