Theoretical Scenario
MD-11 with onboard fire
#2 Tail-Engine is shut-down (due to fire&smoke of unknown origin checklist) so tail-tank fuel is not being used.
LSAS is out (longitudinal stability augmentation system which makes it easier to fly around at aft CofG and abide by 40% less than DC-10 horizontal stabilizer area) - autopilot also out.
Fire/smoke breaks through ceiling lining just aft of cockpit bulkhead (propagated by metallized mylar thermal acoustic blanket batts/wire arcing causing burn-through of stainless-steel HP oxygen lines to jump-seat - resulting in oxy blowtorch) and panic stricken pax up front rush rapidly back to the rear.
1. What will pilot notice happening due to this "back-rush"?
2. What will be the development of the resultant aft C of G Loss of Control?
3. What might assist control by way of:
a. configuration change?
b. manoeuvre?
4. Describe the resultant flight-path.
