That may be a solution, but those plans (I think) pre date the MAN-TP and I would be surprised if MAN did not have an ambition to also demolish the T3 site and construct a new, larger terminal somewhere around where the existing roundabouts/crowne plaza is now situated.
Planning application 081134/FO/2006/S2 on the Manchester Council Planning portal. This is the pier extension with apron either side and Ringway Rd diverted further north. Further application in 2008 087587/JO/2008/S2 phased the development and kept Ringway Rd open.
