I think most of us who post meaningful information on PPRuNe do a bit of self-censorship (at least the ones that know what they're talking about
) - and that's not just in the Military Aviation Forum.
At my day job I'm regularly bombarded with ITAR, EAR, Export Control, and company Proprietary trainings, reminding me what I can and can't talk about away from work (in some cases, I can't even discuss it with co-workers who don't have the "need to know"). So while there are times I dearly want to post in a thread to clear up or correct something that I have first hand knowledge of, but can't (at least not fully).
While I'm on the 'supplier' side of things, I suspect those who are (or have been) in the military are even more aware of the importance of keeping certain information out of the public domain. After all, loose lips sink ships is still true in the generic sense.
