Is UAE culture just the reason for current situation? I doubt it. They may have oil money but they never had the know how on how to treat western employees badly. Traditionally ME was treating South/South East Asian workers badly. But this is the extension of same treatment to westerners. They are treating FAs worse than Pilots. Ground staff worse than FAs.
Treatment of construction workers from third world countries became baseline, so everyone else feels better.
This is the handy work of one not-so-EU country. Now there is no way out for UAE even if they want to make it right.
