That makes zero sense at all. High fares = high yield. At the end of the day more businesses in the Clare, Limerick, South Galway region head to Dublin due to the following reasons:
Early morning departure to transit/ final destination.
Late event departure to transit/ final destination
Less time lost commuting through LHR.
Cheaper fares by up to 50%.
I want to support my local airport but it would kill my business. The only destinations that are "business convenient" flying from SNN are NY and BOS from SNN.
airlines allocate capacity / flights and preferred timings relative to where they get the best return - at the end of the day Shannon is a regional airport there's more money to be had operating from other airports around the world
