Well they (management) put themselves in the hole they are right now. Worse is they have hired a dozen consultants to get them out of the hole which is kinda late. Furthermore these consultants aren't cheap! Why didn't they not hire the consultants when profits were high to generates more profits like what Middle East carriers are doing. Always the opposite with K.A!
They had a good opportunity to utilize the sim some time back when ET approached them but K.A thought they will be on top forever! Guess what, ET now has 5 full flight simulator and now K.A B787 guys do their recurrent training at ET B787 Sim
A very sad state for the carrier at the moment..........

The link for the ad's got pulled out! I think it was an error. As what Ladan mentioned they are in no position to hire at the moment and true they are looking at cutting alot of staff benefits and human power. Actually as a pilot you don't want to be hired by the carrier at the moment. They will retain you as a Second officer for like forever coz they know they are paying you peanuts! The guys flying in the bush will be making more shillings than you! I have never understood why K.A Second officers take more than a year to check out as First Officers. Only a few have checked out in less than a year! Lot of the carriers over here don't take more than 3 months and the pilots are newbies 250-300hrs.
