Sad state of affairs when the only constant good news coming out of Southend is the latest diverts from London City.
What the hell is going on at this airport when the airport can't even pick up any crumbs of the many new routes that seem to be announced almost weekly at the other London airports.
What is going on at Luton is just ridiculous. The airport is full, the place is a building site, yet passenger numbers are up 25% and still new airlines are piling into the place for the first time with new routes that often duplicate what is already on offer from the airport yet Southend doesn't even get a sniff.
Adria having abandoned Southend for a new route to Luton this year is just the icing on the cake.
If these are the good times for airlines operating to and from the UK what is going to happen to Southend when the next bubble bursts?
