I may have confused matters by using the word "Burma" loosely (as we did) to apply to everything East of the Bay of Bengal, although we might be referring to India, Burma, Siam or Malaya !
Operation "Zipper" (see Wiki) was intended to go ashore at Port Swettenham (Malaya), and was at sea when Japan surrendered. But, prior to that, there were dark rumours about another attempt (see my p.251 #5051) at the same time, which did not go well. But, as you rightly say: "
