number1delta,

Unfortunately the airline business is often anything but concrete.

Every year there is more and more competition.

Qatar announced BHX before EK announced a big upgrading in capacity from 420 seater 77W to a daily 615 seater A380.

Turkish have just announced an increase from 12 to 14 flights a week from BHX with many connections going in the same direction as Qatar and Emirates.

Whether this huge increase in capacity to the region from BHX can result in fairly full planes all round is far from certain.

It also depends on what the airlines are happy with. If you look at EDI they have Qatar and Etihad and the load factors on the last two are nothing spectacular. In fact either QR or Etihad are moving a service to the evening to see if they can do any better.

However Qatar don't have much form for chopping services from the UK so I think its fair to say they will commit to BHX at least for a few years.

Hopefully they can fill their planes from BHX and not look back.

However will so much competition you can never give a concrete answer that Qatar will be here for good.

What is very likely is that the capacity and number of passengers flown to the region will steadily increase between them all. Probably winners and losers but the trend is for success to the region to continue.

So perhaps you should just go for it,they are a 5 star airline and we have exciting times at BHX.
