Spectator Facilities
Reported on the Newcastle thread, the airport plans to turn the old tower into a viewing area.
It would be really good if the management at BHX could be so far sighted - a facility like that would attract visitors, who would pay to use it, and would offer added revenue to NCP on the Elmdon site, and give catering restaurant opportunities. It may also serve to raise awareness of just what BHX offers, flights and destination wise, and help increase support for the airport among the public when it looks for expansion.
If such a facility were to be set up (hypothetically - since it won't!) how much would people be prepared to pay? I would suggest, based on the sorts of charges levied at German airports, around £ 1.50 - £ 2.00 per day.
