I haven't put the 767 on my FAA licence, so I certainly don't bother with that one. I don't have an EASA licence but those that do don't seem too worried about it. Since the licence is perpetual there's no need to keep the type rating valid unless you're going for a European job where they require a current type rating. If that's the case then just do an LPC/LST (as required) and then it's all current again. Pointless doing an LPC every year if you're not going to use or don't need it to keep your licence valid. Oz is so screwed up at the moment with the new Part 61 licences that nobody seems to know what is required, so I just keep mine current with a 'normal' biennial check and we'll see what happens once the dust has settled
