EDI announced today that a total of 11,130,584 passengers passed through the airport during 2015, equating to 9.4% growth on 2014 figures. This figure represents the busiest year ever at a Scottish airport.
This puts the airport well on course to achieve 12 million pax in 2016 given the major expansion from Jet2, and the addition of Delta, Finnair etc.
Interestingly, December 2015 experienced a growth of 19.1% in international pax with domestic growing by 1% (loss of VS Wee Red) resulting in an overall growth against December 2014 of 9.1%.
Great set of figures in what has been another fantastic year for the airport. The new owners have certainly delivered and have promised significant investment in the check in and baggage areas this year. Reckon they may need more Tarmac too.
Roll on 2016.
