It helps clearing passport control a lot quicker if a designated crewmember (usually one of the F/O's) collects the gendec and all crew members' passports and delivers them to the airline crew immigration officials (the station on the far left) as soon as possible.
That way when the aircraft is deplaned of all passengers, the passports will be processed and ready (or nearly so) for the entire crew when they reach passport control. You must wait and go through as a crew.
