Additionally, I agree with Thad. I'm not sure how Manual Reversion can argue they want 'oven ready' type rated guys without conceding that costs are obviously part of this requirement. How can you have people interviewed two years ago who couldn't have been oven ready by now with a bit of planning and if costs were no issue? You could have taken a PPL holder from two years ago and he'd be 787 oven ready now!
Regarding zerotohero, I have to admit, applying to Virgin took all of 30 minutes, uploading a CV/cover letter and filling out your personal details. Compared to BA and every other airline I've ever applied to, I'd say Virgin took the least time, so I find it hard to quantify how much effort you actually saved by not applying and the mindset you have in basically giving up. I've failed BA 3 times now, but will give it a 4th go in 10 months or so..
