Except training doesn't do the second part AT ALL. Instead we pretend that GPS doesn't exist and totally ignore it.
I certainly agree it should be part of the training, but there is
nothing to prevent a student from asking to be taught this, in fact quite a good lesson to do while waiting for the licence to come through the post.
