Worse, if a foreign visitor identifies anything about the region it's Robin Hood - but another airport, nowhere near where people believe he came from thought of it first.
Yes we are bored, but Robin Hood is associated with Nottingham because of his evil rival, the Sheriff. Robin lived in the Major Oak, which is nearer to DSA than EMA. EMA is in Leicestershire. DSA is in South Yorkshire but less than one mile from the Nottinghamshire border.
To be honest, I doubt either airport gets many incoming tourists anyway, no matter how delightful their environs. Happy Boxing Day!
