The CNLOPB (Canada Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board) has recently instructed the operators to immediately cease all hot refueling on offshore installations (Jet A1 fuelling with engines running). As a passenger, and helideck team member, I am curious as to the opinion of the aircrews on the risks involved in refuelling with engines on, rotors turning vs shutdown? Is this warranted?
