I think Captain Spam Can has covered it accurately. As I have said before, if the choices life has left you with is to accept an offer from BA or easyJet then you are blessed indeed. For most people, that is not the range of choices they have, and like all companies there are no absolute guarantees about time to command etc. The truth is that if you had joined BA in the last 3 years your promotion opportunities were way better than at easyJet, but past experience would indicate that is a temporary situation.
