A question really for Olton Pete but any one really.

I have wondered about this one. OK the 33 LOC is at the 15 end of the facility, has there been a lot of remedial work, drainage etc or in the taxiway Loop.

The 33 GP, again looking at the pictures: a lot of work, was done re the extension; in the "Ground plane" of the antenna array. I realise it takes months for the "ground" settle both geologically and in terms of its electrical conductivity in relation to the propagation of radio waves to stabilise

As an alternative query: has the extension with its lengthening of the LDA's at both ends, especially 15' meant that its economically advantageous to accept CATIII operations only at the 15 end with consequent operational limitations by virtue of tail wind imposed on operators.

I worked in Sheldon and it was very possible to get 100 Metre vis (not a measure of RVR) with a 15 knot northerly wind.( Micro climate varies a lot)

A quizzical CAT III
