Not to worry. Any information that the hackers gleaned, will only have a 50% chance of being accurate, anyway.

I seem to recall - quite a number of years ago now, before weather information-gathering became better organised and seriously enlarged - that the BOM loudly and proudly proclaimed, that in the past year, they had had a forecasting accuracy rate, that had reached a new high - 48% accuracy.

Somebody immediately pointed out that if the BOM had totally reversed its forecast for each day of the preceding year (i.e. - said it was going to rain, instead of forecasting fine, and vice versa) - then the forecasting accuracy rate would have jumped to 52%!

Needless to say, we never heard the BOM brag about its accuracy rate again for quite some time - no doubt until the major embarrassment subsided.
