The career might be pretty good at SAS.
Some older FO:s have been in the right seat for a long time. It's several reasons for it, they used to not fly as much as they do today. Back in 2000 a pilot was limited to 700 hours per year and the retirement age increased from 56 to 60 and now 65. So no need for new pilots for SAS between 2000-2013.

Now the pilots are in general old, almost all of them will retire in the next 15 years. SAS is also speeding this up by offering exit-packages to older pilots. 70 have accepted and left or are leaving. Long haul traffic will also be increased with 25% this winter compared to last winter which of course demands new pilots as well. It's hard to know about time to a possible command upgrade, but it's definitely not 15 years. Probably around 7-9 years.

Next year SAS will take delivery of 2 more A330 and the deliveries of A320Neo will start as well, plus 8 CRJ900 which will be operated by Cityjet though but feeding in passengers to SAS network.

The contract is definitely not the best, but it includes social insurance paid by the company (31% in Sweden), health insurance, pension, per diems, dry cleaning, some extras (2000 euro/year) and they pay for type rating with full salary during it.
If you come with experience you get a bit higher salary and it's increased with aprox 200euro/month for each year in the company.
