In the summer of 1967 all eastern-Africa flights were routed via Tehran due to the situation in the ME. A BUA VC10 did this about mid-July, but went tech in Nairobi and flew no further. All passengers had an enforced wait of many hours, before proceeding with EAA. Meanwhile engineers were up a gantry looking at the tail plane and scratching their heads.
