self rostering

I understand that BA operate a 'self rostering' system. Does anyone have a copy they can let me have? How does it work and is it successful?

I'm interested as part of my study on pilot fatigue and wondered if it had a significant effect on sleep. ie: being able to choose shifts that worked for your body.
